Accounts Receivable Clerk

Spring Valley Building Centre Ltd. is searching for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. Reporting to the Controller, the successful individual will be responsible for maintaining customer accounts and ensuring timely collection of receivables, posting of payments, assessing credit worthiness of new customers, and various other duties as assigned within the organization. The successful candidate will be a confident, organized, detailed and personable individual with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers while ensuring the Company’s receivables are collected in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out billing, collection and reporting activities according to specific deadlines 
  • Monitor customer accounts for non-payments and follow up as required 
  • Regularly monitor account aging and follow up on delinquent accounts 
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records 
  • Process daily receipts of cash, cheque, credit card and online payments 
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries 
  • Communicate with customers via telephone, in person, and e-mail 
  • Prepare monthly reports on A/R metrics for management 
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post secondary education in a Business related field considered an asset 
  • 3 – 5 years experience in a similar role 
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail 
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills are a must 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) 
  • Forward thinker with an eye for process improvements

Boom Truck / Crane Operator

We are currently accepting applications for the Permanent, full-time position of Boom Truck / Crane Operator.

This includes:

  • Gaining knowledge of products, merchandise and services offered by the company
  • Attending boom truck operators course offered by the Atlantic Building Supply Dealers Association
  • Loading, unloading and delivering building materials to job sites
  • Maintaining delivery trucks and reporting any repairs required or issues with the trucks to fleet manager to ensure they are kept in safe working order
  • Performing other material handling activities such as counting, sorting, packing and unpacking
  • Operating forklift as required to load and unload trucks
  • Receiving orders and stocking yard inventory as needed
  • Assisting customers in the yard picking up products and also providing product information as needed
  • Ensuring boom truck and warehouse are kept clean and well maintained for safety
  • Performing basic maintenance on trucks and equipment
  • Assembling and disassembling products for display as required
  • Working with team members to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Following and enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Assisting in annual physical inventory counts
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including Saturdays

Contractor Sales/Draftsman

We are currently accepting applications for the Permanent, full-time position of Contractor Sales/Draftsman. 

Contractor Sales/Draftsman are primarily responsible for building customer relationships by providing reliable, dependable service

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply project management techniques to ensure customers’ complete satisfaction with their building experience
  • Familiarize, understand and utilize drafting & design software to manage construction changes and new builds
  • Work with senior staff to properly manage projects, including material purchases and delivery logistics
  • Communicate with contractors & home owners regarding specific project details both before and during construction
  • Provide estimates for new builds & renovations, following up with customers in a timely manner
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of products and services offered
  • Manage customer orders, ensuring the information is entered accurately into the system
  • Demonstrate & provide instructions on merchandise use and general product knowledge
  • Follow and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties, responsibilities & tasks as assigned

  • General knowledge of the Construction Industry

Warehouse Associate/Delivery Driver
